In Search of the Perfect White Tee

For as long as I can remember, I have loved a great white T-shirt. Long before Heirloom Amalgam existed, it was the piece I reached for most. Paired with vintage jeans and well-worn Converse or Birkenstocks, it has always been my uniform.

Throughout my career in luxury fashion, I was constantly searching for the perfect one. Some felt wonderful the day I brought them home, only to lose their shape after a handful of washes. Side seams twisted. Necklines stretched. Fabrics grew thin and tired until they looked more like an old dishcloth than something I wanted to wear.

When Scott and I began designing the collection, we never set out to make another white tee. If we were going to make one, it had to earn its place in a wardrobe for years to come. So we went back to the beginning. We studied the history of knit fabrics, how they were built, how they aged, and why certain vintage tees only become better with time.

Our custom Baby French Terry became the foundation for everything. It drapes without clinging, holds its shape, and grows more comfortable the longer you own it.

There isn't one perfect white T-shirt.
There are three.

The woman who loves a slightly cropped silhouette is not looking for the same tee as the woman who reaches for a classic crew each morning. Others feel most themselves in the ease of a V-neck. Style is personal. So instead of asking one tee to be everything, we designed three, each cut from the same cloth and held to the same standard.

Different silhouettes. The same uncompromising standards. Looking back, I realise I was never really searching for the perfect white T-shirt. I was searching for the feeling it gave me. Confident. Comfortable. Entirely myself.
